Pansies are really nothing extraordinary. They are a cross breed of violas and a common sight on doorsteps across America. Ophelia tells us otherwise, that pansies are not just for doorsteps but for thoughts. In this case, pansies are much more important to us. Thoughts, like pansies are common (or so we hope). However, unlike pansies, thoughts are spontaneous creations of the brain, capable of monumental achievements. Also unlike pansies, thoughts are expressed through different channels, which vary for each person. I personally am working toward becoming a professional dancer, so I normally express my thoughts through dance. And as amazing as dance is (trust me when I say it’s amazing; it’s my passion so I would know), some things cannot be effectively communicated and shared by the use of the body alone. Ophelia may have been right when she said that pansies are for thoughts, but better yet: words are for expression.
